Real meaning comes from living a life of real purpose. Without God there can be no real purpose:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician, writer and Nobel Laureate)

"it's whatever you want it to be." Sorry, no. You cannot have been created for a purpose and then make it what you want it to be. Logically that statement can only be true if it's all fantasy land.

"Your meaning should be whatever it is that keeps you going.. Love, money, success..." In other words, invent something that will give you some good (but meaningless) feelings so that you won't commit suicide.

I think the choices are that we either seek our Creator or we seek good feelings.

Um...how dare you ask this question on Yahoo! Answers...don't you have a life? Yeah...so instead of asking me what the meaning of life is, go find one yourself. Your meaning in life can be to ask dumb questions on Yahoo! Answers, which frankly is not hard to believe. This would be where I tell you to get a new meaning to life and STOP asking dumb questions. I seriously think you have a disorder with asking dumb questions, Caroline. Hey! It's your best friend Sally! How are you! Just foolin' with ya, girl! Call me tomorrow and we can Mall and stuff! Love ya!

It is what you make it. There is no right answer to this question because everyone's meaning is different. Your meaning should be whatever it is that keeps you going.. Love, money, success...
