wrong? I was amazed to see this , even when a technically right answer was simply given on a topic not subject to opinion or interpretation. Even questions on anatomy . Some people truly seeking a sincere answer are misled. What are your thoughts?

I agree.
I actually was the misleader!
The question was about a girl
wanted to know if she had to
be a blond to play Alice in Wonderland.
I told her yes, there's an old movie with
an actress with brown hair that played
Alice.
Later I realized that I was thinking
about the old "Wizard of OZ movie!"
By the time I figured out my mistake,
she had already chose me for best
answer! I felt soooo bad.
I wanted to contact her, but she had
everything blocked. :~(

You're right on this one. I guess it has a lot to do with how the answer is presented, true or not or right or wrong sometimes does not seem to enter into the decision to award ""best answer". and what the original expectations of the "asker" is/ or was. I see many times the asker will have an advanced idea, and is just looking for those that agree fully with their idea, and others are awarded the immediate thumbs down. Can't win em all they say, so just play the game and hope for the best, as it's nothing serious anyway.

i think to pick the best answer is a little bit difficult and the asker should alone decide who has the best answer.
