Dear Amanda,
It is a dangerous business to put too much weight on a table... if made of glass could cut someone. I choose my tables and try them for compression and force at break; so there are no risks, all fun. Call it "safe tableing".

No.. But once someone hadn't put the end of the table up right and I put a placemat down and it collapsed. Thankgoodness I hadn't put the roast beef down..
