It makes the mower cut poorly and makes it work really hard... over time bad for the mower.
The grass is slippery too, so if you have a hill be careful.

Also - doing this often can promote disease in the lawn. Esp' in late summer when it's humid out. Brown spot, dollar spot- fungus among us. A little moisture is Ok - grass is like us, 90 % water.

No, it's just less likely that it will cut very well. Wet grass often just lays down and if your mower blades are not sharp, you will just push the grass around instead of actually cutting it.

I would wait a couple of hours until you can't feel any water on the grass (ok if ground is a little damp, just not the blades of grass).

It doesn't cut well as it clumps together, clogging under the mower deck. Physically, there's a light more chance of spreading disease. Also the rain weight may cause the blades to bend over, not stand tall for cutting.

The wet grass may clog the underside of your mower if it is a cheap mower. Also, the grass is much heavier and any grass that is lying down from the rain might not get cut.

Yes. If the grass is wet when you cut it, it makes the lawn more suseptible to disease and insects. It also damages the grass blades because they don't cut clean.

I would think that cutting your lawn after it rains would not only gum up your mower but would rust it.

It would be easier on your lawn mower if you let the grass dry out before you mow.
