Is King George mad? Isn't one definition of insanity to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

ldscows, you act like Bush did not have support here at home. He has squandered that support just like he squandered his opportunity to bring peace to Iraq. I will make a prediction. When the American people find out what really happened to the money for rebuilding Iraq, George W Bush will be the most scorned president in American history. He screwed up in Iraq. He screwed up with Katrina. "Hey, Dub, you are doing one heck of a job."

It isn't insanity. It's greed. It's a disaster which was created when the Administration "coporatized" the American Government.

"We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

- Dwight D Eisenhower

Once upon a time the people respected the man in charge of leading our country. Is it too much to ask that the nation stand behind our President and support him. When men and women enlist they know they could be deployed and what could happen. It's their choice, shouldn't you show some respected for them. If you don't like Bush take your liberal minded self to Canada.

Hey, more Americans died in Normandy than died in Pearl Harbor - and France didn't even attack us!

It's not like this is the first time a war has turned out to be far more widespread and costly than the initial wrong that touched it off. Heck, has there's /ever/ been a war that was concluded before the casualties of the war exceeded those of the provocation?

Good point. It's a huge mess. I don't see any real solutions to be honest. If we pull out now, then Iraq will be left to deal with the insurgent war that was caused largely by our presence in Iraq. But if we stay even more Americans and Iraqis will die. It's such a mess.

I think that people are starting to forget why we are at war. I don't necissarily agree with everything that george has done or is doing, but I don't think we should give up the fight. We are fighting for those who died in the 9-11 bombings, we are fighting for each and everyone of us and our children. Would it be better not to fight and give the impression that we are weak and to take over our country? We need to fight for our freedoms. I don't like the war and perhaps it could have been over if we someone else leading us, but I have not forgotten what we are fighting for. What if we were to back out, lower our defenses....make our nation vulnerable for another attack...do we want that?

Bush won the Iraq war. The military can't win the peace without support from here at home. If we leave Iraq in the present situation I feel we will fight radical Islamists on our soil. Better in your hometown than mine.

Not to mention, we lose more Americans to abortion every day than we have lost on 9-11 or in the war. 4400 reported daily.
All are precious.

9-11 was a one day attack
We've now been at war for 4 years. Every American life is sacred and should be protected and valued, however for being in a conflict for four years the death of brave American heroes have been minimal

Why are we in Iraq?
Where are the WMDs?
Where is Osama Bin Laden?

There are more terrorists in Pakistan, Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. This is from where they are flooding into Iraq. Our troops are essentially a magnet for these extremists.

And, yes, Iraq DOES hold the world's second largest source of crude oil... Coincidence? Saudi Arabia is #1 but we won't declare "war" upon them... see, we're awfully friendly with the Saudis because they've given our King and his family lots of money and favors.

More Americans die every year because of illegal immigrants than 9/11 , the war in iraq and afghanistan combined but he thinks that fine too.

You are an idiot!
