My buddy and me wrote and shot a movie this summer. However he took things into a different direction and I'm looking to start my own writing. If anyone has some advice on things such as plot movement, character development or anything at all, I'd really appreciate it.

I suggest you go to the bookstore or library, and pick up some books on screenwriting, there are tons. Also, watch as many movies as you can, and take the best parts of the ones you like, and analyze them.

A film course at school or a writing course wouldn't hurt, either.

Life experiences and a great imagination bring good characters and plots. Don't sit on your duff, get out and see the world.
