About a month ago, a friend of mine had unprotected sex. She was worried about being pregnant, but her period eventually came, so we both figured that she's safe.
Now, she's saying that she has all the symptoms of pregnancy. Before I told her that she was paranoid, but now she has no reason to be paranoid. Could she be pregnant, even though she had her period?
Much thanks for serious answers.

(She doesn't want to buy a pregnancy test. I don't know why, she just doesn't.)

The pregnancy symptoms can be due to her thinking that she's pregnant. If a woman desperately wants to be pregnant or fears that she's pregnant if she doesn't want to be, her body may 'act' pregnant even though it's not the case. It's rare to be pregnant when she's had her period - but it does happen. I think she's safe, though.

It is possible to have at least one period after getting pergnant. My best friend had 2 full periods before she found out she was pregnant either time. There are clinics like Planned Parenthood where you can get free pregnancy tests so she doesn't have to buy one. Or she can go to the doctor and get a blood test done those are the most accurate tests.

Well ask her how her period was. Was it heavy light bright red like usual or darker brownish color?? Some women can have there period through the first part of there pregnancy but it is not as heavy you will not bleed as many days as usual and it is darker not as red as usual. So ask her if it was normal or not. And if it wasn;t than tell her she needs to accept the fact that she could be preg and to find out for sure there are free clinics everywhere. I know it can be hard but ignoring the subject will not make it go away. I wish your friend the best of luck and i hope i helped.

I am living proof that you can have your period and be pregnant. If she won't buy a test, I think you should be a good friend and do it for her. But I must say, if she is embarassed to get a pregnancy test, maybe she shouldn't have had unprotected sex...
Best of luck to you and your "friend."

I would either buy a pregnancy test for her or offer to go with her to get a test done at a health clinic...sometimes they are free. It is possible to still have a period and be pregnant...just to be safe tell her to get a test.

She could be pregnant, even though she had her period. There are a few women who have periods throughout their pregnancies. If she won't but a test, you should get one for her and make her take it. Better to know now.

Was her period any different? Anytime you have unprotected sex you have the chance of getting pregnant. If she won't buy the test, why don't you go buy one for her? That would be better than the stress of worrying about it.

In rare cases, you could be pregnant and still get your period. It's probably best to take a test or see a doctor. Perhaps you could buy a test for her.

Dear friend, It is likely that, eventually, when two unmarried people tempt themselves by being alone with one another, a pregnancy will occur, or they will share a disease. You can get support and information at a pregnancy resource center, which you can find by googling optionline, or call 1800afamily. Please take good care of yourself and your baby if you are pregnant. Sincerely, Runner

Yea u cud be pregnant if u had seen your period. Your periods (if you have them during your firts few months of pegnancy) are usually light and short. She really needs to buy the test to make sure though
