If you're talking about a remake of the DS (like GBA, GBA:SP, GBA:micro), then it's impossible to say for sure.
(Btw, they could add new things if they wanted. i.e, Making PictoChat online, giving us the browser, having demo's be available over wifi. Don't assume the ds.lite is perfect how it is.)
But if you're talking about the next product (like GB:Color, GBA, DS) then it will probably be another 5 years before we hear about it. I know that discussion started about the successor to the GBA started after the release of the DS, but Nintendo didn't expect the DS to be as much of a mega hit it is now. I'm sure they'll let it ride out as long as they can.
Who knows, we might get a new dual screen, we might get a new game boy, it might be something completely new, we all know how nintendo likes to suprise people.

2 possiblities.
1. They won't because....it doesn't really make ot sense to make another version unless it will serve some purpose better than the DS Lite.
2. Theoretically saying they were, it is probably in development and would be avaliable for retail in a year and a half at the earliest.
