Ramie is a plant fibre used since ancient time. It is one of the strongest natural fibres, it doesn't have much elasticity and is somewhat brittle/stiff.Items made from100% ramie need special care high temperature will damage it.Gentle machine or hand washing on a low or even cold heat are recommended and drying flat after pulling into shape.Hope this helps.

Ramie is not wool. It's a plant fiber, like linen. It's not as soft as well-washed linen, most of the time. Usually it's mixed with cotton or linen. It wrinkles like a mother, and will shrink in hot water & high agitation. But it has a nice sheen and is sometimes present in pretty nice, affordable clothes. Caveat emptor.
