I certainly hope they are released unharmed but, considering the way they treat their women and the way they treat animals, I am skeptical.
I'm certain it must be Bush's fault.

NO country should EVER negotiate with bloodthristy terrorists. You send the message that either release UNHARMED hostages--or die if a single one are harmed or killed. No, you might not get the actual terrorist killers themselves---but you can imagine them scream in pain when they see you zip missle blasted a huge crater where a building housing a terrorist cell was.....killing a dear friend or relative of the actual terrorist killers.
THEN....they'll see business is meant when it's decreed NO NEGOTIATIONS WITH HOSTAGE-TAKING TERRORISTS!!!
RELEASE HOSTAGES UNHARMED OR DIE!!
Taliban are foolish to think South Koreans are gentle pacifists: their own army is formidable--and their special forces branch aren't no slouch, either.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if South Korean military intel has been received and they got key special force troops already surrounding the terrorists in place, ready to "drop the hammer" on them. If not, you can be assurred they WILL pull off a successful strike on terrorist cells....it's only a matter of time.
If those hostages die, Taliban will die--rather fast, too: the Korean way.....and it ain't plesant, either.

They won't get anything if they kill the hostages.
It seems the Talibans are desperate to get something, but they just can't deside what to give priority to.They are already divided.
They like to feel the power the kidnapping has given them-one of the most influental countries in the world on its knees-that's what the Talibans see.
Also, as long as I know, killing women in such way is unacceptable in the Islamic countries and the Taliban will lose the support even of fellow groups. But probably the men are already doomed

The Taliban cannot but trusted . No terrorist can be trusted.
Yes, the Taliban will more likely than not kill their captives
regardless of whether they get what they want or not.
And no, we should never negotiate with terrorists...this encourages more terrorism. We negotiate with one terrorist
organization today, tomorrow we'll have thousands of terrorist
groups making new demands and swarming us with requests
for negotiations.

Any kind of negations is a lost cause from the start. When it comes to terrorists the rules are:
1. Kidnap anyone in sight
2. Demand the release of whoever they want. (unless they want money)
3. After realizing it isn't going to work the hostage is shot and forgotten about.
This country should be doing the same thing.

The Koreans are playing a wait and see game.I don't think it's a good idea to piss off the Koreans. If they kill the Koreans the Taliban will regret it.
