Man, I had to click that thumbs-down button a lot...
Bonds IS a member of the Major League Baseball Players Association. Many people, and scroll up for numerous examples, get this completely wrong.
However, for several years, Bonds has declined to participate in the blanket licensing agreement which the union offers to its members for negotiating licenses to use the likenesses and names of the union members. This is completely within his rights, and by declining to participate, Bonds does not collect licensing fees from the union's licensors.
Bonds in union? Yes.
Bonds in union licensing program? No. His choice to opt out.
That's all of it.

Bonds worked out his own deal on merchadising and is working on his own deal, so if he didn't sign a contract with mlb video then he won't be there, oh he is such a good role model for the world to see his greed.

This question is asked multiple times a day. He isn't in the player's union and they can't use any name of any player that isn't in the union for copy right and legal reasons.
