I do recall saving green stamps. Saving the books in order to get an item that cost more than a book of stamps. Single stamps to fill the page then there was the larger stamp that only a few were needed to fill the page but I forget if it was ten or more in value. Mostly things for the home.

Yes, I do recall saving S&H green stamps many years ago & I bought mostly baby furniture with the books. I also recall saving Eagle stamps which worked the same way.

Good Lord-Green stamps. We got everything with them. Luggage-card table-Coleman lantern. In fact we took a trip across the country and most of the things we brough with is we had gotten with green stamps. It became a regular family night getting together all of the stamps and finding ways to put them into the little books with out dying of glue poison. Love the question.

I loved Green Stamps. I used them for towels, bedding, dishes, and a wall clock. There was another type of stamps about the same era, but I can't remember the name. I saved them too.

Yes. My mother used to shop for groceries at the A&P and First National grocery stores in the New England area.

I always got to put the stamps into the books but can't remember what my parents bought with them.

Thanks for the memories.

Yes, I saved Green Stamps. I used them to get things for my kitchen that I couldn't afford to buy otherwise. Safeway stores issued Gold Bond stamps, which I also spent a lot of time pasting into books. Yuck! Good memories though. Thanks.

Septembersong - oh yes I remember (unfortunately I am old enough) and so must you be.....

I got an ironing board - in fact it lasted me 25 years and when I replaced it the new one was hopeless in comparison...

Those were the days - I am a young 56 - look about 50 so I am told but I do enjoy being the age I am - I can for the first time be myself without pretending - if I don't want to do something I don't do it and yet for most of our life we are trying to please people - the only person I please now is me (How utterly selfish) but wonderful.

Have a good life

Jeanie
