What's the calligraphy symbol at the bottom of a page called? It's like a sideways S with 2 lines through it.

Those really don't have a name, as they were considered 'filler' to fill out a page, thus keeping any additional information from being added.

I thought at one time it was a quick form of writing "infinity" in caligraphic script, but I find no mention of this on the net.
