My son was delivered at 37½ weeks and was perfectly fine. However, I was enduced because I had pre-eclampsia. You doctor will probably not enduce unless you are having some sort of medical problem that threatens you or your childs health. Unfortunately, being tired of being pregnant is not a "medically necessary" reason to enduce labor. Talk to you doctor, some are more willing than others.

Everyone at 37 weeks is tired of being pregnant and anxious because you know you're sooo close!!!
There would be little to no complications with you and baby if delivered now but the baby's lungs needs every minute in there. Right now your baby would risk being put on oxygen for a day or two and higher risk for jaundice, which isn't bad...usually after a day or two you're ready to go home.
But you need to be patient and keep that little one in there til they decided it's time to come out. That decision is not up to you unless you're overdue of course. It's frustrating (i'm 38 weeks and dilating and contracting but still no baby) so hang in there it will go by faster than you expect.

Full term now is concidered 37-42 weeks. My son was born at 36 1/2 weeks and his apgar score at 1 min was 8!! My very first was born at 37 weeks to the day and he was healthy as a horse. Some people just "bake" them fast like myself lol. It should be ok as long as your body is ready to go into labor. You can try the whole sex thing, walking etc, but if your body isnt ready, all your going to have is sore feet and a very happy hubby lol. Good luck to you!

most likely nothing will "happen". most doctors will not induce before 38 weeks without a medical reason; even at 38 weeks i had medical complications, and they still did an amnio to test his lungs and make sure all was ok before induction at 38 weeks. youll have to consult your doctor, b/c even medical inductions can fail if baby isnt ready; any at home induction tips will only work if the baby is ready to come out. worse case scenario; doctor induces you early, baby isnt ready to be born, and you end up with a c-section and sick baby due to failed induction. your best bet it wait it out; anyones whos been pregnant has been there; sick of being preggo, but its just part of the package; you gotta wait til the baby is ready. good luck and congrats! enjoy these last few weeks before your new arrival!

Baby won't be quite as ready as he might have been, but he'll be completely healthy. My son was 36 wks 6 days and he weighed 8lb10oz. He had a few problems and had to stay in the hospital an extra day, but nothing unusual.

I was on bedrest for the full third trimester because of abnormal pain and constant contractions. I had my daughter 3 weeks early via c-section and she is absolutely perfect.

However, in my humble opinion, just tired of being pregnant is not justification to force deliver your baby. Give your baby the opportunity to reach his/her max.

Best case: baby will be fine. Worst case: dates were slightly off and baby has some minor to moderate lung/eating/weight issues. Everyone gets to that point of being "tired of being pregnant" but ya stick it out because that is what is best for the baby. Best of luck to you hun, the end is almost here!

At 37 weeks, you are full term. Your baby may run the risk of under-developed lungs, but it shouldnt be too bad because you are full-term

Drs will not deliver at 37 weeks unless dire complications.
Sorry.. it's hard but rest and drink lots. Won't be much longer.

37 weeks is considered full term, but you need to try and keep that baby in there as long as needed.
