If Hillary is elected and steals oil companies profits, like she said she plans on doing, would this cause the gas prices to rise even more for the oil companies to recover their profits?

She never said this:
"I have a plan to set up a Strategic Energy Fund using excess oil company profits to invest in alternative energy."

Of course. You don't think they would eat that loss do you? Of course she would probably bring back Carter's great idea of price controls causing a shortage in gasoline.

She cannot do it. She is blowing hot air to try to attract voters. A bill would have to start in Congress, be approved by both houses, signed by the President and stand any court challenges before becoming law.

If you want less of something tax it, if you want more of something subsidize it. Hilary will have us all driving horses and buggies with severe restrictions on horse apples if she is elected. I only hope that the American voter is smart enough to see thru her. many of those above me don't remember Bill's penchant for executive orders.

Legislation would required to raise taxes on Big Oil and that would be not stealing unless you want to play childrens's games with words. With oil copmanies making record profits, they could easily pay more taxes and not raise prices but of course they would raise prices anyway.

Let's face it. Gas prices are only going to rise, we are never going to see prices below $1 ever again. Why don't focus on alternative energy options and watching our consumption instead?

Yes, the government already claims almost 50 cents per gallon, while the companies only make roughly an 8 cent per gallon profit, they are going to have to make their money some how.

Yes! Hillary is all about buzz words and appealing to emotion. She is not even worth talking about. Vote Obama or Mit Romney.

Can you explain so I can understand how she is going to steal their profits? How about we just stop giving them tax breaks and incentives and use them to build more refineries?

You do know what a subsidy is, don't you? It isn't profit - it's a handout from the taxpayers.
