Ben Nelson of Nebraska. He doesn't vote party lines. He actually looks at the issue and decides how to vote based on what's good for the nation and his constituency. I feel better having him represent me than the other 99 members of Senate who are automatic votes for a bill their party supports.

I believe its door knob on the front door of the Senate building.
At least the door doesn't need the outcome of a poll to know what to do.

I like Gordon Smith (R-Oregon), mostly because he is unafraid of crossing party lines when he feels strongly about something.

There is no "best" Senator. That's why their approval poll numbers are so low.
