Well, you have to inform the people from the very beginning that you like short and sweet answerrs. That's all. Some people like LOOOOOG answers and the some also like to explain a lot of things in their answers that's why it makes their answers sooooo loooong...LMAO

Sometimes a question needs a detailed response. It is not always possible to tailor a question to match the attention span of a person who is not interested in reading all of the answer. There are many questions on this site that cannot be summed up properly in just a couple of sentences. For example, legal questions. Many times, questions about law are multi-faceted. There are many factors that need to be considered and there are many different possible outcomes depending on situations. The person answering will just try to point out as much of this as it possible. Some people also do not want to appear to be lazy or just trying to score points by dropping quick, pointless answers.
In the end, I guess it does not matter what you want. As long as Yahoo Answers provides us with the space to write, we will write. I don't see Yahoo Answers doing away with the space anytime soon because, like I said, some questions need to be answered in detail.

Answers that are too short are often just that...SHORT! Short on substance and clarity. That is why we have a generation of kids who cannot do anything that they cannot control the outcome. I have students who say they are dating somebody and they do not even know their last name.
You obviously have a motive or a desired answer in mind when you ask and answer. You may want to consider that answers are often complex and the complexities of life are what really matters. Your are obviously young, give it some time and your will think differenlty as well.

Sometime it does not help to send a short answer, and it does not convey the information needed. Instead of a shirt answer that really says nothing, a longer answer gives the information the person needs, and shows the intelligence of the person writing the answer, along with a willingness to help the person asking the question by taking the time to give them a complete and accurate opinion of their question.

It allows us to vent and get our thoughts out about a subject.
Now some, which are like 5 paragraphs long, need to be cut short.

because some of the questions are so vague that you have to state your assumptions before you can answer the question. or by nature the question really as asked has about three or four different right answers.

Because you said are twice in your question when you shouldn't have. Don't ask questions that require a long answer and you won't get long answers.
