This is less of a question and more of something which I hope will start a conversation. Republican or not, is anyone else fed up with how even though almost all media cooperations are biased towards the left, people still flip out when they hear something from Fox News because it's majority is Conservative? Everyone else can have their Democratic bias, but as soon as it's a Republican bias, well that's just wrong!! Why is this? You don't typically hear Republicans flipping out over a Liberal comment someone made at ABC. But as soon as Bill O'reilly opens his mouth, it just makes Fox seem even more despicable in many Liberals' minds.
I thought Liberals were supposed to be full of understanding and open mindedness, and that we were the ones creating stereotypes. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that lately many left wingers have begun to stray away from what makes Liberals unique (and attractive, in my opinion).
Discuss!!!!

We all enjoy our diatribes. Listen to yourself. Right now you're hopping around just spoiling for a cyberspace fight and frolic all blown up with yourself and self importance. If you don't lighten up you'll explode. Bill O'Reilly is little more than a conservative thug. He's the Rosie O'Donnell for the right wing audience. What a moron. We Liberals find him amusing and many of us watch him for kicks. We had some friends over not too long ago and we decided to watch him for fun. About 10 minutes and we'd had enough so we went back to our former entertainments but it was rather fun. You're flippin' out right now and can't see it. You're a ding dong! BTW... How did I get between Blue Ridge Living and Aviator? I love you both :=)

We are understanding and open minded. We put up with cons, don't we?
I am sick of people labelling liberalism as an illness, whatever tf THAT means, and going on about the "liberal" media, which I don't have any evidence of.. have you ever thought that maybe it's just some bs PROPAGANDA from some folks that want to MANIPULATE the MASSES??? Some of the $%#^ I see on the news I wouldn't want to be associated with, and for the want of a better name you call it liberal.
Bill O'Reilly invites abuse. He is well paid, and anyone who subscribes to cable pays his salary. Do you think he really cares about how he makes Fox look? And has the guy come out of the closet and admitted that he's a Republican? If "republlicanism" were a disease, he needs the cure.
Why can't you people wake up and realize that THEY WANT US AT EACH OTHERS THROATS LIKE THIS?
I think that cons have good qualities and it would really suck if the whole country were liberal. Even though I am to the left, I am not dumb enough to say we don't need each other. Both sides have good qualities to bring to the table.
WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG??? LOL

The bottom line is that most people who call themselves “conservative” exhibit two things, if nothing else:
1. They have no f&%^#!? Idea what a Liberal is and
2. They have no idea of the definition of the term, “conservative”!

And the indomitable Pink Angel
I wonder if the unconscious urge of some to project personal but uncomfortable behavioral habits upon the perceived enemy ever tries to reach their conscious thinking, even if for a moment.
I also wonder why so many uninformed individuals find it impossible not to do battle with their fellow citizens when so many real enemies abound.
Are they unaware that each person has the right to his or her own view point or do they just not care about the rights of others all the while claiming to be patriotic and in favor of freedom?
These individuals, whom I consider intellectually challenged, are quick to fall back upon derision and name calling when challenged and then project this defense mechanism upon the perceived enemy.
There really is absolutely no excusable reason for all the vitriol spewing about the web.
On the other hand it might be unconscionable to leave the neo cons completely devoid of debating tools.

The problem I have with Faux Noise is that people are invited on shows like O'Reily's and then talked over, yelled at and insulted. I have no problem with a conservative perspective (I actually believe that I agree with some of them). The problem I have is in the noise machine that doesn't allow for an EXCHANGE of ideas. And as for the concept of the other media outlets being liberal, I think not, I believe they are incompetent with more focus on the latest lost blond girl as opposed to real investigative journalism. If they were really liberal or good at what they are supposed to do, we wouldn't have gotten into the mess in Iraq.

since 5 huge corporation own 98% of the media outlets in this country most all media has turned hard right, most all networks employ pundits rather than foster debate. but it has been very clever how they steer the dialog toward the right by presenting all liberla ideas as far fetched or outragious. Most liberal that I know only want us to stick by the constitution not look for ways around it. To reenforce the checks and balances that keep us free. to have openess in the descision process. like the founding fathers wanted.
All men having power ought to be mistrusted.

I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.

I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.

While all stations will inherently have some bias, the problem with Fox News, is they are the least accurate. It has been proven that their viewers are consistently less educated on news stories then the other stations. PBS viewers are consistently the most educated. That of course points to inaccuracy in the reporting of the stations. I think that is where the major beef with Fox News really comes from.
Edit: blueridgeliving, my point is, bias or not, they report inaccuracies and lies. I think we are on the same page, just reading it differently.

What amazes me continually is that no matter what comment is made about Bush or his mismanagement of the war, or anything at all that is not singing his praises and their first comment will be .....But Clinton did this, Clinton did that...Clinton had a BJ. Guess what....Clinton does not have us in this insane war.
The second phrase they will sling out is....well if you don't love it, leave it...and that is right before the speech about how George is a good and moral man that talks to God on a regular basis and how he has the good of this nation at heart. Hmmmmmmm.....maybe Halliburton's profit line comes into play somewhere along the line. Then they start up about how unpatriotic Dems are and how we don't support the troops although their own support of the troops is to put little yellow stickers on the bumpers of their cars while they sit on their fat butts comfy at home listening to Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood. It is nonsupportive to want to get these guys out of the Bush meatgrinder and we have to stay there so more will die. Yea.....guess that makes sense to you.......not to me though. We are there because Bush does not have the balls to say he lied and that he made a mistake. Soldiers are dying for his big overinflated decider ego.
You Republicans have convaluted logic and are in a huge state of denial. You rationalize and justify anything Bush does no matter who is hurt in the process. Thanks to you and your hero a river of blood has run thru Iraq. And still you want more.
If you call standing by while more of America's sons and daughters die for Bush's incompetence being flipped out then I am definately flipped out. He needs impeachment, they need to come home and most Republicans need a reality check because they are definately out there. Sorry I have no words of praise for the Republicans. They are big rocks blocking the road in the quest to get our guys out of Iraq. I guess a little soldier's blood on the money for Bush's base pockets adds a little red, white and blue to their green.

I've found on Yahoo answers that most strongly conservative statements are met with far more name calling and hate than are the strongly liberal ones.
I think this stems from the nature of what it is to be liberal and conservative.
Liberal thinking is based on an idealistic approach to the world. Liberals see solutions in terms of the ideal solution.
Conservatives are more realistic in their approach to solutions.
I've always said liberals are the reason things get better and conservatives are how they get better. You have to have both.
Conservatives are less "angry" in their responses (though no less vocal) because they see the liberals as being the way they have always been.
Liberals are more upset by what they don't agree with because they see things that should not be the way they are.
I hope neither side gets the upper hand.

If the USA media were liberal, you'd see dead and wounded American soldiers on TV every night. You'd see dead and wounded Iraqi children on TV every night.
But you don't. Americans are sheltered from the horrors of war - if the media really were liberal all that violence the American taxpayer is funding would be shoved right in your face - as it should be BTW
