Wrestlemania vs Summerslam?

Question

Would it be fair to say that Summerslam (SS) is a better wrestling product than Wrestlemania (WM)

Because WM is usually just very hyped matches that can be fast and exciting but not alot of in-ring skill.

While at Summerslam most matches are pure wrestling matches that are entertaining more so for the workrate not the big names or hype.

For instance watched WM for only the actual matches bell- to bell and nothing else it would not be as good as if you did that with SS.

For instance Wrestlemania 22 was presented very good ith big names hype pyro and all that, however Summerslam 06 had better matches

You know how Rock vs Hogan was big at Wrestlemania only because of the names in it but if you had that same match with lets say Chavo Guerreo vs Carlito. With all the same moves spots and finish you would care less.

But the Summerslam match with Rock vs Triple H vs Kurt Angle was very good. And still probably would have got pops if you had that match with mid carders in there place.

Wrestlemania hasnt been good since Wrestlemania 20. The only decent match is the Money in the bank match. Think about it the last 2 WM's have been Cena winning the WWE Championship matches.

Summerslam has had some great matches like Undertaker vs Kane when Kanes mask got taken off.

Wrestlemania is the better venue & the historic matches that have occured there speak for themselves.

Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant - Wrestlemania III...Pontiac Silverdome sold out (93,000 people in attendance)...Andre passed the torch onto Hogan

Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit - probably the best technical wrestling match in the history of the WWE

Macho Man Randy Savage vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat--another classic technical match that involved something like 28 pinfalls.

Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan

Hogan vs the Rock - what an atmosphere for that match!

You could go on & on about the historic matches involving the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, etc.

WM is a entertainment product which builds storylines for the whole year. (Vince going nuts).
SS is a wresting show, with a few things here and there (returning stars etc).
Summerslam in my opinion is 10x better than most WMs, except of course WM17 and WM 19. All the other ones have been better.

I have a question - What was your opinion on WM 16?

Summerslam 05 was just as good as WM 21 to me with the exception of HBK vs Angle....

But in other cases, Wrestlemania can be a better put together PPV than Summerslam some years..

WM 22 was subpar to me, but Summerslam was better, but Survivor Series is a better PPV some years too than all of them...

This year, my favorite PPV has to be the Royal Rumble to be honest with you.

Summer Slam is way better then Wrestlemania. Compare wrestlemaina 23 to summer slam 06. No comparison. Summerslam kicked wrestlemania's butt!!!

ill say wm but summer slam is good but wm has more action and more drama why do u they say that wm is the best ppv???plus that summerslam is the 4th best ppv and wm is the 1st the second is royal rumble and 3rd is surviver series!!!!so ill say wrestlemania but everyone has its own opinions we cant really tell wich 1 is better so good question.

you have a point, but i think it depends on the matches, so some years summerslam is better then wrestlemania or the other way around.

This year's Wrestlemania sucked but Summerslam is going to be the sh*t cuz "the champ" will be losing his title.

I say wrestling mania is better it has be around a lot longer than summer slam and it is the ultimate pay per view all time in wrestling.
