Sadaharu Oh's record is acknowledged as pro ball's record. Yes, it will fall. The livelier ball these days and the smaller ballparks will contribute, but it's a fool's folly to guess at this point who it will be. A-Rod may step off of a street curb and be injured out of the game, you just never know. When someone actually gets close (and someday someone will), then we can have a good guess.

The Beastie Boys already did it:
"Hey ladies in the place I'm callin' out to ya
There never was a city kid truer and bluer
There's more to me than you'll ever know
And I've got more hits than Sadaharu Oh"

Do we get to include minor league home runs in this? What about Spring training? Exhibition circuit home runs? Or is this just regular season and postseason home runs?
Yes, the record will fall eventually.

Most ballparks are smaller in Japan but still a great accomplishment. I think you will see someone get there one day in MLB, if not A-Rod than someone else.

I think that if ARod gets out of Yankee Stadium he's a shoo-in.
