I wanna buy a linksys router (to share internet connections). I already pay for 1MB DSL for internet (surewest). I want to know if I will buy a router, does Surewest block it?? please answer thanks

No ISP can prevent you from using the signal anyway you want to after it has reached you. Just follow the Linksys directions and you are home free.

Impossible for them to do the blocking, SureWest could've chuck you a contract and saying it is illegal to share but that's the extend of what an unscrupulous company would do, however I have no idea if this SureWest is such a company or even they restrict this by contract.

Calling and asking them wouldn't hurt, but I've never heard of an ISP blocking anyone using a router. You're buying the internet connection into your house. How you distribute that connection in your house is your business, not theirs :)

No, ISP providers understand that people may have more than one computer to connect to their services, thus the need for a hub, switch, or router. Follow the instructions provided with the router you purchase, it should instruct you as to how to set it for DSL configuration to keep your connection alive.
