Good looking... Now that's subjective!!

Science has found that most animals prefer symetry in their mates- from fruit flies to humans. Symetry in the human face is a sign of strong healthy genes, nice for handing down to offspring.

My personal qualifications are not quite so physical, more psychological, emotional.
I like a guy with humor, integrity, honor, respect...
I prefer thin men, but then I married a man whose pants size is 41x29... go figure.
In general I prefer nice-looking classic to nice-looking average...
Hugh Jackman (Kate and Leopold, X-Men)
Bruce Willis (Die Hard)
Dennis Quaid (The Rookie)
Harrison Ford (Star Wars-- Yes, 15-20 years ago)
Jerry O'Connell (Sliders, Crossing Jordan- TV)

A complex question, really. Scientific studies show that symmetrical facial features and (in women) a hip to waist ratio of 0.7 is seen as attractive in nearly all cultures.

But I do think there is some subjectivity. Certainly there is in terms of hair colour, hair style, height, weight, breast size, etc.

Personally I find women with darker hair more attractive, but that's just me. Other people would think differently!!

How? Or what makes them good looking? It's different for everyone. My "type" of guys would be Jake Gyllenhaal in Jarhead, that guy in beauty shop - Bryce Wilson, Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting, Shemare Moore in Diary of a Mad Black Woman (or in anything for that matter!) and Josh Hartnett in Pearl Harbor.

Balanced features. In my personal opinion I like a man to have a professional look (clean, well dressed) with a little manliness. Like a 5 o'clock shadow or taken care of facial hair.

The glow of good health, a confident posture, a sparkle of intelligence in the eyes, a muscular grace of movement, the nerve for direct eye contact and fearless engagement for the pleasure of the connection, a wry smile, and, on a man of course . . . a mustache!

I think everyone is good looking until they give me a reason not to, people are people, looks are only skin deep. There is too fat and too skinny, but not too ugly or too good looking. I personally am not very picky, if a woman even remotely acts like I might have a chance, looks don't mean much to me.
