Awww... thank you for realizing how much patience it does take. I have been teaching for 20 years. I sometimes look back and think.... wow, how have I survived. lol But I think its a combination of loving kids.... loving what I teach..... and just understanding how the adolescent mind works. It's definitely a strain..... but so worth it in the end. I guess after 20 years I can safely say that I do have the patience. :)

It must take a lot of patience to be a teacher and I'm not one of those people, I do have a friend that I've known since 3rd grad that is a teacher now and I dont know how she does it. I have 4 kids and if I had to teach them myself, I'd probably go buggy.. So more power to the school teachers that can handle it. Give me another opinion on this question if you want to. Thanks. freedom

I know I used to want to be a teacher. Never went to college though. Ended up managing a corporate day care for a few years and loved it!! But, nowadays, I just don't think I'd want to do that anymore. I would still love to work with kids but the risks vs rewards are just not worth it. Such a shame.

Yes I do. In fact it was my first choice of profession. It still is one of the things I want to achieve. The patience goes hand in hand with realising you are there to encourage, inspire and create. You would know if it is right for you - you would feel it

Let's see... I hate kids, and I have splurge fests with my wallet quite frequently, so I'm going to say no. I mean, even if I somehow enjoyed my power trip as a teacher, I'd never survive on the salary!

I am very impatient with most things, ....but I'm amazingly patient to the kids I'm teaching ( I'm a language teacher). Anyways I still want to find a job that pays better.

Yes, but Id be fired for maintaining too high standards. No kid would EVER get away with the BS they put teachers through today in my class.

I am a teacher. It's very tough on the nerves. Not everyone can do this job. I wish some people would stop thinking that it's easy and all we do really is babysit their kids...

When I was little I wanted to be one. But now, I would never put up with disrespectful kids. I'm not really good at teaching things anyways lol
