In some situations a person's age could matter, like said before with talking about adult topics/answers. There are some things here that children should not see or hear about, though.
In other situations with normal questions (no adult/inappropriate material) it wouldn't really matter. Intelligience would be more important in some cases. Mostly it doesn't matter the age of the person- just the quality of what they write.
So, you could look at it from both ways and see if age really does matter with Questions and Answers.

yes it should because i've read some horribly wrong answers on here and then clicked on a person's profile and find out they're like 13. for some questions it doesn't matter but when you have a 14 year old telling another 14 year old (who doesnt know the age of the person answering) there's nothing wrong with having a baby at her age there's a problem with that.

Yes, I believe that the age of people here does matter. There are all to many questions/ or /answers that children should NOT see or be exposed to. And I would think 18 or older, but I can live with 14 or older.

Yes it should. Say the wrong thing or post an adult content to a younger minor's question, and you'll be banned.
And TED. I grow tired of your rhetoric. What are you doing on line? Waiting for the white bedsheets to dry?

Yes I think it does matter. Take this category for instance. It sometimes contains rather mature questions and answers. I think teens and tweens should have their own categories. They have started a category for seniors recently.

Not really. Although I'm sick of the 10 y/o's on here, who cant spell, and are rude. Your supposed to be at least 13 to come on Y!A....besides that, it ain't nothing but a number.
