According to published accounts, Kathy Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg are among the finalists to fill the two empty seats on "The View."
I don't think they will hire TWO comedians for the same panel, so I'm afraid it has to be one or the other.
Honestly, although I love Kathy G, and I have seen her in person, I would prefer Whoopi. Also, with the number of celebrities Kathy has dished, could they book ANYONE onto the show of note? :o)
[Yes, I know this is more a 'media' than a LGBT question, but I feel secure that y'all will have strong opinions on this. And I hang out here a lot more than the media section.]

WOW! A very interesting question.
Kathy Griffin is SOOOO funny, but I think that I would much rather watch Whoopi on the show. Kathy will clash with the other co-hosts, in addition to any of the guests. And Whoopi is a very intelligent person; I'd LOVE to see her interview people.

Honestly, I would rather if Rosie were coming back, or yet, never left. I know a lot of poeple do not like her because she is so political but so many times, she says just what I am thinking but not want to admit to. As far as the View, tough call. I have been been a fan of Whoopi forever and just got to know about Kathy in the last year or two. I wish all these wonderful ladies good luck

I personally do not like The View. The only time I ever watched the show was when Kathy was on it. I LOVE her........and I LOVE Whoopi. God bless the strong women who say what they think and are not intimidated by all the 'games'. The fact that Kathy has made a very successful career by using the whole 'celebrity game thing' and adding a great comedic aspect to it justs tickles me to no end.

Definitely Whoopie - she seems to have a "less desperate" approach to her comedy, and from what I have seen/read of interviews, she seems to be damned intelligent. I like Kathy, I just think Whoopie may be a better fit for The View.

I like Whoopi a lot more than Kathy Griffin. I think Kathy if funny, but, honestly...she's so manic sometimes it really gets on my nerves...

I'd prefer Whoopi. She is the more intelligent of the two, IMHO.
I like Kathy, but she has to strain to be funny. To me, her humour comes out as a "dumb act".

I love Kathy too and I would much rather see her on the View than Whoopi.Although Kathy has dissed many celebrities, Whoopi is much too political and outspoken for my liking. Either way it will continue to remain a good show.

Kathy because she would lighten up the show. I don't watch it it's too boring but she would definitely change that. Who cares who she has dissed? She's a comedian and everyone is free game.
