I agree they're bias against the West Coast the most, the only reason you get to see the West if Kobe and the Lakers or the Suns is on TV. And in college football the only highlight is the USC Trojan and every other teams is a quick glimms and move on to Big 10, ACC, or the over-hype SEC. But ESPN is an East Coast company.

ESPN as a whole isn't biased, but they have people that work for them that are. Some of what you call a geographical bias towards the East may come from the fact that ESPN headquarters are in Bristol, CT.
If you're talking about a newscaster's bias - they're a sports network, and if they want people to watch then they have to voice their opinions about something. If you watch Sportscenter, it's relatively straightforward news. If you want unbiased sports, then watch ESPN News all day - then see how entertaining it is.

I think that ESPN is completely unbiased. I'd love to see someone just start bashing another team or talk about how sucky the big east is. And while we're fixing ESPN, can we have Lou Holtz fired right in the middle of his drool covered analysis.
In regards to the Eastern schools, they don't get a lot of coverage because they don't play until late, and then ESPN starts NFL coverage Sunday morning.
I'd like to see some Sunday afternoon college football highlights and analysis, but I doubt you're going to get that unless you have some special college football programming.

I don't think they're biast at all. But if you asked me if I thought they were biased, I'd say "hell yeah!" The way they slobber over certain teams (college and pro) is disgusting. I love it when they're really wrong, the only problem is, they never own up to it. Sports analyst and weatherperson: you can be wrong a lot and never get sacked. Best. Jobs. EVER!
Cheers!

They definitely have a liberal bias. I've heard Peter Gammons and Karl Ravetch insert political jabs where they really didn't belong. Leave your politics out of your sports takes, Goober.

Everyone keeps saying that they favor the East, but they are on USC's nut$ so bad right now it makes me sick.Every year they pick one team to blow up(2006:Ohio State-2005:USC-2004:Oklahoma-2003:Oklahoma)Do you notice the trend????None of these teams won the BCS that year,so good luck USC...

It's not ESPN, it's the analysts. They do favor the East (more colleges though) AND they are up the Big-10 and SEC's as.ses
