How many more Jews would have been born if the holocost (which was the death of 6million jews) never occured? How many more people would be alive if Hitler never reigned (i think the total deaths were about 12 million)?

If birth and death rates stayed the same across the years, population growth by the 12 million could be figured with a fairly simple formula much like the one used to figure compound interest.

Birth and death rates aren't constant across countries and through time, however. Disease or disaster can cause death rates to increase for a certain period. A booming economy might mean higher birth rates for a given year.

But aside from the unknown variables, we'll assume that the rate is based on the average planetary growth rate, thus: We'll use 2% growth from the 60s and 1.5% from 1990 onwards.....gets us about 26.9 million from your 12 million figure.

Well, it is impossible to say for sure, but if we use your number of 12 million and we assume half are female and half are male, and if we shoot for the smaller guess, assuming they married each other and had the average of 2 children each couple, that would be an additional 12 million children of the first group. Now, if those 12 million were half female/ half male, and they married each other also and had 2 kids each, that is another 12 million in the current generation so by this logic 36 million or so people would be alive today. Its not that simple though, some would have died by now (decrease the number), some wouldn't have had children (decrease the number), some would have married outside the group I allowed for in the calculation (increase the number). But that's my best shot at it using your number of total casualties.

You're a bit off...Hitler's (and his lapdog Mussolini) war killed over 50 million people...and another 10 million are credited to the Japanese Empire....

It is incalcuable to estimate how many geniuses...great healers, scientists, etc. were killed and how many others that would have been born...but weren't...I tell you truly...it boggles the mind...

There is no way of knowing......

Maybe a plague would have swept Europe instead of Nazis and killed millions more.

You just never know "What if?" You can only know (to a certain extent) what happened.

g-day!
