austindrace11: "Cubs and Red Sox thy have the two best records in the AL and NL"

lol what? The Cubs have like the 6th best record in the NL. The Red Sox are currently 1/2 game up on the Tigers, who would tie them if they keep their 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 7th. The Tigers would have the best record in baseball if they win and the Sox lose tonight.

Anyway I think the ALCS will come down to Boston vs Detroit. They've played 7 games this year with the Tigers winning 4 of them. That's what I think will be the outcome in the playoffs, Tigers in 7.

As far as the NL I think the Mets and Padres have the two best teams, the Mets have the advantage because San Diego has virtually no offense. However, if the Padres can make a big trade for a power hitter they may overtake the Mets because their pitching is a bit better and pitching wins championships. Chris Young and Jake Peavy is by far the best 1-2 in the majors and no team wants to see each of them twice in a 7 game series.

But right now I'm gonna go with Tigers vs Mets, Tigers win in 6

It's a tough question because there's still 2 months to be played. I think whoever makes it from the A.L. is going to win, though.

I know the Red Sox vs. Mets has been a popular choice by casual fans. I think it could end up something with either the Angels or Tigers vs. the Mets or Padres. But for the purpose of one single answer, I'd go with Tigers vs. Padres.
