Disagree adamantly, you should see before & after pictures of my hair color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. Maybe you're right, perhaps I never had any standards. I'd like to be who some want me to be, I'm not. Maybe, I've "put my foot down!"

yes
my standards have changed since i was 18 to my now 34. I use to belive that the whole world was out to get me and it was every person for themselves and to settle for whatever i could get. Keep in mind i was molested as a child, my mother was an abusive bipolar alcholic.
However at some point i came across someone who really loved me and married him and began to realize i deserved to be treated better, the whole world is not out to get me and that i didn't just have to settle for whatever came my way.
I feel a persons standards are always a work in progress constantly evolving

Well, it appears you have answered your own question. However, putting in my two cents (or two points) worth, I'd say that no one is ever too old to learn anything. Whistler's mother was in her 90's when she became a famous artist. Many people have become famous in their golden years. So whatever it is you want to change, get with it! Good luck!

You are never too old to do anything even to change your standards if they need changing.
Your question was hard to read because a kind of answer was under it.Why ?

Depends on which standards you're changing.... to me, changing standards is similar to changing one's mind.... it happens all the time.
You spend years seeing the world/life through one set of glasses, then something new comes along and you realize there's this big scratch or nasty spot on your glasses.... so you change something.

There is always hope that something can happen unless you are dead.
We change all the time. Even our environment. So if you are not changing for the better than you live hopeless and dead.

Never....comes down to choices....do you want to or not or are you ready to or not. Up to you what you change about your life and you can do it at any time at any age.
