I am confined to a wheelchair, and I need it so I am not a bother to others during the day. It does get rather ripe after about 6 hours, and the lysol I use isn't working to well. Also, anything organic would be a plus!

I don't think there is a product that will help you. A better solution would be to hang out with people who do or at least look like they would smell bad. Then, you could blame it on them.
A guy I went to college with used the same tactic, and he hung out with a non-traditional student with poor hygiene who used to buy us beer. I never knew he had the bag until it spilled open one day in the cafeteria.

Use 3% Hydrogen peroxide (no stronger). It's found in the first aid section of Supermarkets and is safe to use as a mouthwash and on scrapes and bruises and is certainly safe to use in your bag. I've been using it for over 2 years now and it's never hurt my stoma BUT it does totally eliminate the odour with just a squirt into my bag every time I empty.

There are ostomy deodorisers you can buy from the manufacturers but the 3% HP is much cheaper and I know many ostomates who use it with much success.

Good luck.

Hi,
I would also contact your ostomy products supplier and ask them. See my 2 out of my 3 boys had colostomy bags and they didn't smell but that might be becuase we use to change it at least every day.
You can always keep some aftershave in your bag and put it on.
Hope you find the answer your looking for.

I used to take care of a lady that had a colostomy bag. Whenever she would go to empty it, she would light a match after and blow it out. The sulphur from the burnt match helps eliminate the odor.

Contact your ostomy products supplier.
They have many efficient products to recommend. Some are used inside the pouch.

Most suppliers will send free samples.

If you are on Medicare, they should be covered along with your supplies.
