I went yesterday for the lower back pain I've been having. It was like he wasn't listening to anything I was saying. Told me to take tylenol and use a heating pad. I told him I had already been doing that and it didn't work, hence the dr.'s visit. Still, he sent me on my way. Nevermind I had a baby 7 wks ago, was recently treated for a uti, and had a c-section. This was my first time seeing him and now I don't know what to do. What do you think? Especially if my pain keeps increasing. Thanks

Call your insurance and make a formal complaint about him, then ask for a second Dr.

you can ask to see a different Dr. Try a woman dr. They might listen more. WHat are you going to do if the other dr. does the same thing?

I have bad back pain...... back pain is hard to prove, they will need to run tests if it does not go away. A Dr. isnt going to give a NEW patient that he doesnt know a narcotic, for the simple reason that so many people make up back pain to get the medication.

He will also be less likely to do more aggressive treatment until you have healed and fully recovered. He is protecting his own AS* Keep going back with the same issue and he will do follow up.

Back pain is something that doesnt go away easily. Everything effects you back. Try a chiropractor to see if you can get some back relief. I know that helps me way more then the pain pills.

I had horrible lower back pain through my first and second trimesters of pregnancy. My ob/gyn referred me to another doctor to deal with just my back pain...he didn't do anything that worked. After about a month I told my ob/gyn and she told me about another doctor. This was a spine doctor and rehab facility. I wouldn't take any medicine besides tylenol although they tried to get me to take something stronger...I didn't think it was right. Then they tried physical therapy which surprisingly worked!! Maybe you can call your insurance and see who else may be covered under your plan. I was lucky that there was no copay to see the physical therapist...they may be able to give you medicine to help with the pain while you are doing the stretches and exercises to help...it is worth a try though...Good Luck!!

Definitely go to another doctor, get a 2nd opinion. Usually you get to choose between a variety of doctors that will take your insurance. Don't take no for an answer, you have a right to adequate treatment. Even if you go out of network, you will have to pay an additional fee, but depending on your coverage, you should still be covered. Hope you feel better.

I think your doctors suck! I think that you should go to the emergency room and let them know that you really are in bad pain and none of your previous doctors have done anything about it! I have a feeling that something wasnt right with your epidural. you might have leaked spinal fluid..which happens. I think the best bet is the hospital before you feel worse. Best wishes!

I had a similar experience a few years back. I was in severe
pain and the so-called doctor gave me nothing. I promptly went to another doctor, who actually listened and prescribed
a painkiller. Not all doctors are good, don't settle if you're in
pain.
