Pretty simple question, will the big fella win at again this year. At the pace he is going he might hit 50 hrs and get close to 140 rbis.

Right now Howard is sitting on 278-28-83 and has been hitting the ball well lately. If he can get to .300 with 45 homeruns and 130 RBI he would definitely be a contender. His slow start this year might keep him from another MVP but I would give him shot at it.

Ryan Howard is a notorious slow starter. Last season, he had a pretty abysmal April, and he won MVP. In 2005, he struggled when he came up in May for an injured Jim Thome, and he won Rookie of the Year.

I wouldn't be surprised if his numbers are worthy of serious consideration by the end of the season.

Let's not forget, he was the Player of the Month in both August and September last season.

He certainly could, its not out of the question at the rate he's goin, especially since his average is goin up. His main competition is: Prince Fielder, Aramis Ramirez, Russel Martin and teammate Chase Utley (Reyes is a long shot). The Phillies have got to get to the top of their division for Howard or Utley to win or win the wild card at least.

hes not having as good a season as last year

rite now hes only leading in one of the 3 triple crown categories. and hes batting.278, just barely above the league average

hes good, but i think there are better choices for MVP this year in guys like Prince Fielder

I dont think so. I feel that the time he was injured might hurt his chances. He is still having a monster year, but the MVP award might have to go to Prince Fielder or Jose Reyes.

i agree with swingman. howards batting average isent
the highest. its acutally pretty low. prince fielder would more likely be the one. he has plenty of homeruns and his average is good.

prince fielder = .285 batting average, 30 homeruns and 75 RBI's

Ryan Howard = .278 batting average, 28 homeruns and 83 RBI's

also ryan howard is 28 years old and prince fielder is only 23
prince has also a lot more time to do better in his carrer

Maybe, if the Phils make the playoffs. MVP awards are always weighted more heavily toward second half performance and he's been the best hitter in baseball in the second half

i think aramis ramirez of the cubs or prince fielder of the brewers will win it this year. I think alex rodriguez of the yankees will win the al mvp.
