I'm asking about the spirit of the 22nd Amendment, not the actual law itself.

No.

There is nothing that prohibits a spouse or family member from holding political office.

Just like GW Bush holding office for a second term shortly after his dad held office doesn't violate the spirit of the amendment.

The Constitution could have included prohibitions against siblings, or children or other family members, holding office. It didn't. It left it up to the people.

I doubt that him being First Laddie (as he so humorously puts it) will not violate the 22nd Amendment but there will probably be a whole lot of Grand Larceny involved if they've already used up all the silverware, china and linens they took with them when they departed the last time.

I wonder, if Hillary wins, do the Republican staffers get to remove all of the H's from the White House West Wing Keyboards when they leave?

No, but you might find it well to plead the 21st amendment.

You know, the one that repealed prohibition, because you have to be under the influence of alcohol to ask this.

President Clinton and Senator Clinton are ---

TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

Duh.

Yeah, the spirit. We got it. And my answer is still the same.

They are two different people. Hey - how many women do YOU know who do "what their man tells 'em?"

Hm?
