It is very, very, dangerous for a 14 year to go alone to New York City.
Please show these postings to your parents. Hopefully they will change their mind. They need to know, that NYC is a very dangerous city, especially for a 14 year old.
Why are your parents sending you New York City alone?
Tell your parents to go to New York City with you. Are you staying with a relative in NYC? A 14 year old should NOT be alone in New York City. I'm an adult and it's very scary being alone in New York City.

First off it is un-wise! Not knocking NYC, but a 14 year old should not travel anywhere alone. I don't know if there is a specific law against the 14 year old for doing so, unless you are running away, at which time you have broken the law. The parent or Guardian that permitted the travel could very well face child endangerment charges as well as other charges.

I assume you're staying with family or friends of family? While NYC is safe, I don't think it's smart for a 14-yr-old to go to the city alone. Things happen.

It's completely legal, but there are a few problems...
1) It would be uber unsafe
2) If you're out of state and going by plane, it'll be hella annoying because you have to go through all of this "unnacompanied minor" crap.
If you're going to a camp or workshop or something though, you should be totally fine.

It may be grounds for child abuse accusations against your parents. You are out of your mind to want to go to NYC alone. Why do you want to do that?

I really think it's not the best idea. If it's not illegal, it should be. You going to NYC alone is a recipe for disaster ! Please don't go !
