Ok, Im am planning to build a computer for gaming. My question is if I still need to buy the cd to download windows xp or vista

If you plan to install any MS OS you will need to purchase an operating system disk( i do not recommend pirated copies due to the fact you will NOT be able to recieve the critical updates from MS to keep your computer safe).. however you could always use linux... its free but requires a bit more time and knowedge :)

Hi. Have you considered using an open source OS? Otherwise the answer is, yes you must buy a CD.

yep, linux has alot of builds, but linux isnt a gaming os. if you get vista have atleast 1 gig, 2 gigs is better tho, and game support for vista sucks balls
