If someone emails me and I email them back, could they get stuff like my address, phone number, city/state where I live possibly even my bank account info and SS#? Some idiot has been sending me emails and I have no idea who he is. I've emailed him and asked him to leave me alone several times but he won't! I hope I didn't make a mistake by emailing him back...What should I do! I'm more worried about him hacking into my computer or something...HELP!!

No, merely by e-mailing you that type of information cannot be gleaned.

They MIGHT be able to locate your city but even then the records on node locations are not very accurate. Until recently my IP address showed up as being in NJ. Then it showed up as being in St Louis and is now in a town about 15 miles from where I live.

All of that said, any e-mail that you send DOES include your IP address. If your system isn't properly protected with a firewall it IS possible that someone COULD hack into it and get personal data that is already stored on your machine.

That was pretty stupid. If you don't trust the email, don't open it, just opening the email could allow anything. It is probably a spammer, though you usually would not get multiple ones from the same person. If the email is just trying to sell you something, just don't open it or click on any links. If the emails are threatening, then I would suggest alerting authorities.

hmm.....you dont know if that person is a hacker or not...?

maybe he is just a guy..and wants to talk to you!!

1% of it could be a hacker...cuz hackers dont have time to do these stuff....

and hackers cant get info from your email....

they get info from only one thing in your computer.....
and thats your IP address #....

if they know your IP # ...it means they know everything about you...

got it????
