Happiness is a state of mind. Anyone can be "happy."

This crap that conservative trolls post about liberals is.....crap, plain and simple.

A lot of cons are "happy" in their neatly packaged little worlds; content that they are doing God's work and living "moral" lives.

But they're very "unhappy" because they imagine that their having to help people who don't "deserve it." Christian values call for benevolence, but the cons get a bunch of reflux over deciding who's "deserving" and who's not. So, they're not all as "happy" as they would have you believe.

I'm more Libertarian/Democrat, and I'm quite happy, thank you. I worked all my life in a blue collar job - as opposed to inside an air conditioned cubicle - and paid my dues.

Now, I'm enjoying the good life and the fruits of my labors. I don't get my shorts all in a bundle over who's "deserving" of charity or not.

See, what a lot of people don't grasp is that the act of charity or benevolence should be done freely, with an open heart; not in some critical, judging sense. I believe in "give until it feels good."

I don't think any political party has a corner on the market when it comes to happiness. I am overall a very optimistic and happy person. However, that said, when it comes to politics,I don't see how anyone can be happy with this bunch of thugs in the White House today. Only someone with their head in the sand could be happy about this bunch of hooligans making a mess of the world.

hichefheidi... I think you have the answer. I agree with you. Very good.

since it is probably libs who would take the time to study this, the results would just be summarily excused as 'biased' with no follow up of better information. If I had to guess, I would say those who don't concern themselves with politics are immensely happier than those of us who do.

I can only say that I am happy as a conservative because I have firm beliefs and I uphold them.

There are some miserable libs AND cons everywhere.

there are some happy libs AND cons everywhere.

I don't think happiness has too much to do with political parties.

“Most people are surprised to learn that there are real, stable differences in personality between conservatives and liberals—not just different views or values, but underlying differences in temperament. Psychologists John Jost of New York University, Dana Carney of Harvard, and Sam Gosling of the University of Texas have demonstrated that conservatives and liberals boast markedly different home and office decor. Liberals are messier than conservatives, their rooms have more clutter and more color, and they tend to have more travel documents, maps of other countries, and flags from around the world. Conservatives are neater, and their rooms are cleaner, better organized, more brightly lit, and more conventional. Liberals have more books, and their books cover a greater variety of topics. And that's just a start. Multiple studies find that liberals are more optimistic. Conservatives are more likely to be religious. Liberals are more likely to like classical music and jazz, conservatives, country music. Liberals are more likely to enjoy abstract art. Conservative men are more likely than liberal men to prefer conventional forms of entertainment like TV and talk radio. Liberal men like romantic comedies more than conservative men. Liberal women are more likely than conservative women to enjoy books, poetry, writing in a diary, acting, and playing musical instruments. “
“In 1969, Berkeley professors Jack and Jeanne Block embarked on a study of childhood personality, asking nursery school teachers to rate children's temperaments. They weren't even thinking about political orientation.
Twenty years later, they decided to compare the subjects' childhood personalities with their political preferences as adults. They found arresting patterns. As kids, liberals had developed close relationships with peers and were rated by their teachers as self-reliant, energetic, impulsive, and resilient. People who were conservative at age 23 had been described by their teachers as easily victimized, easily offended, indecisive, fearful, rigid, inhibited, and vulnerable at age 3. The reason for the difference, the Blocks hypothesized, was that insecure kids most needed the reassurance of tradition and authority, and they found it in conservative politics. “

I'm not sure how a political party equates with happiness. I thought your were part of a process due to your political beliefs. I'm a happy person.

As if political beliefs have anything to do with personal happiness? You may as well ask who is a happier group of people : people who's favorite color is green or people who's favorite color is purple?

On the assumption that ignorant is bliss, I would say that the libs are blissfully happy with the conservatives running a close cheerful second!
