A lot of times, on here especially, people just want the points for answering a question. They don't care that they give stupid answers, or "sarcastic" ones. In fact I think most of the time they don't even read the question to realize the person asked it for a "real" answer or really does need help.

On Y/A, several reasons.

1. People ask a really stupid question, example "could I be pregnant".

2. People ask a question that has been asked a million times before, example "the sound isn't working on my computer". Before you post your question, Y/A prompts you with previous sounding questions to see if they answered your question, it's not like they weren't given the opportunity to research it before losing 10 pts.

3. People ask a question that could be easily answered by searching for it on yahoo/google. Why do you need me to do that for you? Sometimes you can copy the question directly from Y/A and paste it into the google search box and you get the answer.

4. People ask a question that is so poorly worded and full of misspellings that you can't tell for certain what the question is? It only deserves a smart A answer.

5. Their question shows up in an obviously wrong category.
