Why do poverty stricken cities always seem to elect Democrats?

Democrats are traditionally big on "handouts" (government money) to urban mismanaged local governments. It's a vote getter ... messed up cities have a lot of voters!

Because people tend to vote for the person who promises more given to you for the least amount from you. If you have two people.

One says, "We can fix it but I'll need to cut your services for a while so I can straighten it out right."

The other says, "I can fix it and you can keep all of your stuff. I'll find a way to do it and get you more on top."

If you don't do research, you'll pick the 2nd guy becuase you're not losing anything. That's the way San Diego got in it's financial mess because the mayor said he could fund the police and fire and raise the pension fund and open three state of the art libraries with current funds. Now the city has lost its bond rating and half the city council is under SEC investigation.

Case in point New Orleans they had years and years of neglect the levees and didn't have an evac plan or how to last for 48 hours.

Chicago had the mayor just wipe out an airport because he could no hearing no debate just did it. When his reelection came up one district was going to fight them and surprise surprise they weren't told were to vote or given ballots.

Because the people in those cities are always walking around with their hands out. People are either too stupid or too lazy to get their education and do things for themselves.Playing the race card isn't a reason, it is an excuse.

Republicans think it is necessary to keep the poor down in order to make our nation one where only the top 10% improve their situations.

Democrats want to empower people to help themselves, Republicans want to demoralize people and keep them afraid.

Democrats try to inspire hope in a seemingly hopeless state of affairs, Republicans want you hopeless so you are easier to control. Don't worry yourself we will lead you where you need to go.

For those very reasons that appear daily on this board. Republicans don't believe poverty is something that should concern the nation, that those who suffer at or below the poverty level are either too lazy or too stupid to rise above it. It's a modern day version of economic darwinism (the only darwinism supported by republicans).
