Well, if the roommates have to find someone else to replace you, 60 days might be a good idea.

No! They would most likely be very happy knowing so far in advance! That gives them more time to prepare what they are going to do(ie find a new roomate or move out themselves) The sooner you tell them the better!

Usually, 30 days is enough. However, you can be nice and let them know ahead, so they can find another roommate to substitute you.

what type of lease do you have, if it is a month to month lease then sixty days is more then enough usually a month is required, if you have a fixed term lease then you have to read the lease

there is really no such thing as "too much notice"....that's almost as silly as the concept of "extra money"....Good Luck, moving SUCKS!!!
