We want to name our soon to be born son Roman James but....our last name is Wolfe...Roman Wolfe....See. His sister already goes to a really good school, and i'm not really worried about the kids at school making fun of him. but I was wondering what complete strangers would think. I know it sounds weird but just curious what people that aren't our friends will think.

I like that name. It is very strong and masculine and it has history. He will grow to like his name. Can't really make fun of it because it is a really powerful name.

I don't think it's a weird name- I think it's a very nice name as a matter of fact. Roman is an older name- but also a biblical name so if you're a religious family it's fitting. James is the name of many Kings... Wolfe is a good last name... I think Roman Wolfe sounds like a leader... I think you're overthinking it... It's not like any teacher is going to call- "Hey is there a Wolf from Rome in the classroom?" on the first day of school.

Congratulations on your baby boy!

(PS- And see I didn't even get the whole Roamin' Wolf thing till just now... so I think you're good! LOL)

I think it is a great name. I even have a cousin named Roman Thomas. I have always loved his name. I say go for it even with the last name Wolfe.

I LOVE the name Roman and it is in my top three names for the baby boy I am having. I say go for it. Kids get teased no matter what you name them. If you are really worried about it here are some very close alternatives:

Rome
Rowan
Ronan

Good Luck!

Not as weird as my name Merrick Tyzonn-Balitan! My son's name is Liam-James Tyler. How about Roman Maximus Wolfe? Maximus is my dad's name.

Actually, I think it's quite cool. If he becomes active in sports he'll be the Roman Wolfe!

i love, love, LOVE the name roman! i wanted it for my son's name, but his dad wouldn't go along with it. and i don't think it sounds at all odd with the surname of wolfe. maybe if your last name was 'spears' or 'villa' or 'church' it would sound strange. but roman wolfe sounds good. really good, in fact.
