I need help with paying in American currency, im from canada and Im trying to order something from the states which I have to pay for in us currency...can anyone help me out and tell me what the difference is between them???

If you pay by credit card, your bank/card company will automatically convert it to the currency necessary.

Hi, this is not a big issue...How are you buying from the United States?? Are you purchasing something on Ebay? Directly off a website? A book from Amazon? Okay, most of those have a system where you can use your credit card and pay in Canadian Dollars ( the Canadian / US exchange right now is about 95 cents on the Dollar, the US dollar is higher right now) Credit cards use the current rate pf exchange when they post the transaction.
If you are purchasing something from a mail order company or a company that won't take a credit card or if you would prefer not to use one, there are a couple of options. Go to your bank or post office and purchase a US money order (payable to whomever you are buying from) in US currency. The place you are ordering from will give you the total, the Post Office or Bank will charge you the Canadian rate. My credit union doesn't even charge for this service, it's part of the package I have.
The other option is just to write a cheque to the company for the amount of the purchase and just write US funds underneath the dollar amount. The banks don't like to do it but they will, there may be a charge however depending on the bank. The only thing I don't recommend is sending cash. You will do just fine.

ya gotta go to the post office and buy an international money order denominated in US$....last I checked, it was $1.05 canadian to $1 american...(the best rate in the last 20 years...good on you!)...you can also get your bank to issue a draft in american currency...
Bad news, last I talked to a canadian I was buying from on Ebay, international money orders cost like ten bucks or so...if you have a credit card, they'll convert payment for a fee for you...if the seller accepts credit cards that is...
Edit: and no, the americans won't accept canadian currency cause they have to pay a bank fee to deposit it and convert it...usually $15...
Edit: Debbie has it backwards..sorry, lady...it's 95 cents american equals one dollar canadian...
believe me, if the canadian dollar became worth more than the us dollar...it would be major headline news in every paper in the usa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
