it depends on what state you're in. Here in California, you have to be 15 and a half to work legally. But a lot of family-operated businesses have underage employees that are paid under the table, so it depends on whether your uncle wants to risk that or not.

One it depends on which state you live in. how many hours you can legally work.

You would not be allowed alcohol or the chicken.

i know here is mass that you can work in a family resturant, cleaning tables, taking orders, and seating ppl.

if you are a student and under the age of 13 i believe its 20 hours..

I would ask you uncle to look at the employment rules of your state to find out how many hours, what you can and can't do.

I think you need to be 14 or 15 to be legally paid. If you work as a 13 year old your uncle will have to pay you "under the table" cause you can't do taxable papers yet.

yeah, but you have to be 14 to actually earn money (also only part-time). I work in my dad's office and I'm 13, but i shouldn't earn any money anyways, but I made an agreement that I get to earn 2 dollars a day at least for working here.

Sounds fine to me, especially since it's your uncle and you're just doing stuff over the phone; who's going to find out, anyway? I once went to a restaurant where they had a waiter who looked about ten years old (I think he was the owner's son), so you should be good.

In Iowa, family members were kind of exempt from the age rule. As long as he pays you cash and you don't deposit it in the bank, I'm sure you'll be fine. I was working for my dad's business when I was 11. I got $10 cash for 3 hours work.
