Greeks name their first daughter after the mother's mother and the first son after his dad's dad, so cousins end up having the same names.
After migrating to a new country, they try to get with the family as much as possible in order to preserve their culture and teach it to their kids.

This was a Greek Orthodox wedding and much the same as in a Polish wedding. The "Old countries" are falling behind in their traditions, the kids forget them. I like to see the old ways again. Some of the weddings are spectacular like "the Deer hunter" with the Russian Orthodox wedding there.

What’s funny about “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” is that it hits humorously on a few stereotypes. My Greek friend Nikki went to see it, and laughed harder than anyone when she saw the scene of Michael Constantine introducing his nephews and nieces, “This is Nick, Nicky, Nicole, Nikki, Nicholas, etc.”
My friend Nikki’s daughter’s name is Nicole, too!
