Hears the latest : The head of home land security (Democrat) is doing his best to pass a bill that makes you liable if you report suspicious activity in other words makes it possible for a Terrorist to sue you if you reported him to the authorities to be questioned for suspicious activity or behaviour. Democrat stupidity at it's best! Reasons like this one will explain why America is in big trouble if a Democrat President is elected.Bottom line is if you vote Democrat you are one of two things .One is you are a compleat moron or two you want to see America be destroyed!

Atrium in true Democrat fashion shows hand picked parts of the bill that he wants you to see then inserts his opinion to make it all look good .Democrats are notorious for doing this because they feel it's necessary to hide facts that make them look bad . How pathetic

The answer appears to be yes, the Democrats can and will protect us.
This is the typical conservative spin that is put on something good the Democrats are doing what the Republicans refused to do, and that is to implement proper security practices to protect Americans. These zombie arguments just stink and are lies.
Here is the actual verbiage from the bill that this guy is whining about:
Sec. 432. Appeal and redress process for passengers wrongly delayed or prohibited from boarding a flight'.
The bill really addresses all the recommendations made by the 9/11 commission that were intentionally ignored by GW Bush and the Republican Controlled House and Senate in 2004.
"... the House proposals would implement nearly all the remaining reforms recommended in 2004 by the bipartisan commission on the 2001 attacks, including ways to beef up funding and training for first responders as well as calls to rewrite many U.S. policies for controlling weapons of mass destruction and nuclear proliferation."
"... the changes would, among other things, result in "100 percent" screening of air cargo and baggage and major ports' cargo within four years."
"The Sept. 11 commission gave the administration a grade of D in following up on its general recommendations for preventing the development and spread of weapons of mass destruction."
The bill also actually contains "Whistle Blower" protection language.
Just remember, there already is a system for redress in which people can sue if a person does falsely accuse someone and they actually suffer harm or damages as result by lawsuit for libel or slander.
No new laws should be passed to protect people that may intentionally report someone out of malice. Such a law could lead to a system that can be abused.

it doesn't matter who is the head of homeland security they dont protect the country, the soldiers in our military do. terrorism is not going to stop just because we have a republican in control nor will it destroy this country if there is a democrat running the show. the bill that is being introduced is intended to help stop profiling, and protect the police departments. a person in america already has the ability to sue someone if they are turned into the police for suspicious activity, but it is the police departments that they can sue, not the person who turned them in. this creates a large problem for the police. since 9/11 americans have been very defensive and suspicious of any person who looks or admits to being muslim and there have been an exponential increase in harassment cases against them. this bill is designed to help the rights of those americans who are muslims but are not terrorists, it gives people something to think about before they try and turn in the guy down the street just because he's a muslim. if you do turn someone in and it turns out that they are infact guilty of terrorism they will not have a recourse against the person who turned them in, that will only happen if they are found to be innocent and then it becomes a case of harassment brought against the person who turned them in instead of against the police department that arrested them. this will help out the police and also help prevent needless harassment of american citizens that are muslims. please think before you make comments and do some research before you just spout off about things that are opinions and not facts.

Who exactly are you calling the Head of Homeland Security? The Department of Homeland Security is a presidential cabinet, led by Secretary Michael Chertoff, and is part of the Bush administration.

A compleat moron?! It would behoove you to spell correctly if you are going to insult someone.
I would assume that the Head of Homeland Security would have a greater understanding as to why this bill is necessary than you would. There is a lot more information that one would be privy to when in the higher levels of gov't than the avg. citizen. There also should be a rationale as to why this is occuring and it would be a good idea to look into this rationale.

I'll explain this clearly and slowly. George W. Bush is president. George W. Bush is a Republican. The president appoints the head of homeland security. The president typically appoints members of his own party to these positions. Therefore, the head of homeland security is a REPUBLICAN!!!!!!!
Get it? If you don't believe me, look it up.
Moron.

I doubt they can do worse than bush, standing by and doing NOTHING as terrorists attacked the USA and murdered Americans on 9/11.
Is that why you're not in iraq fighting?
"are" is NOT a misspelled word. It's evidence you're too stupid to understand basic English grammar(are and our), so why try to spin it?
