Just so you know, a woman can get pregnant at ANY time during the month, EVEN when she has her period. Each woman releases eggs at different times during the month. Sperm can live up to seven days, where as an egg only lives 24-48 hours.
The way to answer this question would be to figure out the womans most fertile time period. One common method of finding out the best time to get pregnant is counting days. To do this, figure out when your next period is due. From this date, count back 12 to 16 days. This will give you a range of days when you will probably be ovulating. In normal case, for women with a 28-day cycle, the 14th day is often the best day to get pregnant. To use this method, you must know how long your cycle usually lasts and have relatively regular cycles.
So if you want to make your chances of not getting pregnant better, do not have sex during the above period :)

The best time to NOT get pregnant is to have sex during a woman's period.
The next best time is a few days just before the period and a few days just after the period.
Trouble is, periods are often not totally regular.
The next safeguard is for the woman to do a temperature chart and look for a pattern of when in her cycle (1st day of period = day 1 of cycle) she has a temperature drop followed by a spike.
Then there are women like me who have 2 drop/spikes and a much larger period of time when they can become pregnant.
The drop/spike in a woman's temperature (taken each morning just before getting up) is the day of ovulation. You have to avoid sex a few days before to a few days after the drop/spike.
So it takes time to figure it all out.

When you are not fertile you will not get prego...most women are fertile 12-16 days after the first day of their last period...and stay that way or about 4 days...
to find out when you are and are not fertile go to a ovulation counting website...i think one is called mymonthlycycle.com

Since every woman's cycle is a little different and there is no sure way of knowing, the month that she is least likely to get pregnant is the month she is dead! Sorry.

A few days before or after her period. Because you ovulate about halfway in between & that's when the egg is most easily fertilized.

it all depends on ovulation and every person is different. the average is about 2 weeks before your period so if you're regular you can start from there. i actually had to concieve during my periods. if you are trying the easiest thing is to buy a saliva ovulation detector. you spit on it each morning and you'll see a difference when you are ovulation. that will tell you when to or not to have sex. good luck!

when she is on her period is usually the lowest time, however it is not impossible. Alot of women ovulate more then once during the month.
So dont have sex without protection unless you want a child.
