That is a question that has been haunting our society for quite awhile. I don't think that there is any one answer for it.

This is something I can't understand either.

I have a fulltime job and accepts per-project basis jobs too, I can have kids out of wedlock if i want to (not that desperate though) but I won't ever bring another life into this world if I knew I wouldn't be able to give the best my child rightfully deserves.

I know many jobless people who don't even think before they do the deed. Contraceptives are one of the easiest things in life to access but they choose to make more and more babies even without the security of a bright future.

These kids, due to lack of money, education and opportunities, more often than not, turn into criminals when they grow up.

Irresponsible parenthood should be considered as a heinous crime.

This is called “The law of actions and consequences”.

They are “enabled” by society: The government provides them with foodstamps, assistance with rent, and free medical. Their families support them with money, shelter, drive them to see the doctor, etc. They get sympathy from our elected officials, and the public at large.

Society has taken away the consequences. So exactly what is there to motivate them to take a different action?

If they saw, other people, whom had kids, that they could not afford, living in cardboard boxes, and starving, they would take the time to think!

Yo Kermie... (you gotta check out my last question I posted!! You'll like it!!)

Have you watched the movie "Idiocracy"? I asked a similar question as this one, and someone told me to watch that movie - they explain it all within the first five minutes. I was floored....and, its absolutely true...

Basically, while rich/intellligent people are planning their lives and making sure they can financially and emotionally support their offspring, poor/uneducated ones are just having sex without thinking or considering consequences...

The movie wasnt all that good, but was completely worth renting just for that first five minute segment...

I've wondered that for years. Here's a hint, if you qualify for food stamps, keep your pants on. If you're on welfare, GET A DAMNED JOB!!! That's one of those topics that infuriate me. I dont work my butt off so some lazy slug can sit on the couch, munch cheetos, watch oprah, and count the diamond rings her baby daddy bought her. You cant stereotype one race into it in Florida either, it's an equal melting pot of trash out there.

Because the government loves for poor people to have baby's.They love it so much they will pay them to have baby's.
You get extra rewards for out of wedlock children.
The government really loves those.
Be careful,if they catch you working, you will be punished.
There is nothing the government hates more than productive people.
