Well yes and no. A lot can change in the rankings in 2 and a half years. I mean you can expect the top teams to qualify but just because your say 32 doesn't mean your in. It could be the team with a 45 ranking that gets in, they judge it on different standards. They have qualifying tornaments in all six continents and FIFA decided how many slots are available for each continent right after the last World Cup.

I do not expect many teams from your list, due to the FIFA
process from each continent/area. Irrespective of that, the
FIFA rankings have nothing to do other than bragging about.....
Anyone from the top 5 can win, based on their recent games.
Mexico is playing great, but not enough to win all the way.
If I had to make a pick, I will go with Brazil followed by Italy,
Argentina, Germany and France.
More over, the 2010 will be played in SA....first time being
held in African Continent.

no dude it doesnt go by the rankings. it goes by continents. u have to qualify by continents. like 4 or 5. europe has the most though with like 15 or something. conmebol can have 4 and the 5th team plays australia and the winner if that goes to the world cup. and last year concacaf had 4. asia has a little bit. then africa.

If South Africa is not ready for another year, automatic the world cup venue will shifted to Italy as current world cup holders

Something along those lines. Probably be about 5-10 teams there that don't get in and vice versa.

There are quite a few teams not on that list that will qualify, and there are teams on that list that have virtually no chance of qualifying.

Uh, no that's not the teams that would qualify... that's a ranking they'd use to seed teams.

Of course. Because Italy is gonna be 1st again. Like it did in the World Cup. Brazil might get 2nd or 3rd but it won't get 1st.
Sorry Brazil fans!!!
