No! The management company will take care of the renting process for you, that is why you hire the management company. The management company will find tenants to rent your home all you need to do is stay in contact with the management company. Not that I am aware of. My family rents houses through a realty company that acts as a property manager. We just pay them a fee for their services, they collect the rents and send us a check. They also get that lovely headache of dealing with some tenants that are less than ideal, and the best part is, no one ever knows who you are. The manager contacts you for permission on any repairs, etc., and either takes it out of the rent proceeds, forwards the bill to you, or pays it and then you can reimburse them. It's really a very simple process. Just go through a major realty group that you are familiar with and know as reputable.

No. The property management firm holds the real estate license required to manage and rent your property for you. That's what you're paying them to do. There are no landlord/real estate licenses required of those who rent their own properties to others.

(and ignore Joe's rantings. There are no movements afoot to require such licensing either.)

NO!

Not until the liberals instigage such a thing. They also want to regulate the Internet, many of them.

If Hillary gets in, she could impose landlord licenses, as well as suspend the Bill of Rights and put many other types of restrictions upon homeowners.
