Sure. Just turn off the water supply to the faucet and then unscrew the nut below the knob. With this removed you can pull out the stem and reveal the rubber washer that needs to be replaced. Go to a hardware store and get the part screw the washer to the stem and reassemble. good luck.

You can probably stop the drip by either replacing the washer in the faucet or by tightening the bonnet on the faucet.

However, if the faucet has been dripping for a long time it would likely be easier and faster to just replace the whole faucet with a new one since the seat below the washer may be permanently eroded and non-replaceable.

Quite frankly, if you have to ask a question such as this, then you don't have enough experience to even attempt a repair since you are very likely to screw it up or bust a pipe.

I'd advise you to get someone else who knows what they are doing to look at the faucet and fix it. While they do you could watch, ask pertinent questions and learn this very basic plumbing skill. Believe me, if you are a home owner, you will need this skill in the coming years.

call your nearest hardware store or go visit Home Depot and ask them to show you a schematic of what's involved in an outdoor fawcet, or take a look at a boxed new fawcet and see where the o-ring is located. I don't know if there is a rubber o-ring in there (maybe at the handle) you can replace or if you'd have to replace the entire fawcet. Ask.

There is a washer inside that simply rotted away--it is inside where you can't see it. a plumber knows what washer and how to fix it--a 10 minute job.
